Eleven good reasons to use GFI LanGuard

  1. Patch management for operating systems, third-party applications and web browsers
Compatible with Microsoft®, macOS automatic or on-demand network scanning. Automatically download missing patches.
  2. Detect vulnerabilities before hackers do
GFI LanGuard can identify over 60,000 vulnerabilities. It scans devices, identifies and classifies security vulnerabilities, recommends a course of action, and provides tools to resolve the issue.
  3. Web reporting
GFI LanGuard provides web-based reporting using a secure connection (https). For large networks, you can install multiple instances of GFI LanGuard and use a single web console for centralized viewing and aggregate reporting.
  4. Track the latest vulnerabilities and missing updates
GFI LanGuard comes with a vulnerability assessment database, which includes standards such as OVAL (11,500+ checks) and SANS Top 20.
  5. Integration with third-party security applications
GFI LanGuard integrates with over 4,000 security applications, including antivirus, anti-spyware, firewalls, anti-phishing, backup clients, disk encryption, data loss prevention, and device access control systems . It provides status reports, a list of all instant messaging or peer-to-peer applications installed on the network, and addresses issues that require attention, such as enabling antivirus or anti-spyware updates.
  6. Check the vulnerabilities of devices on the network
GFI LanGuard protects switches, routers, access points and printers from attacks.
  7. Find out what’s happening on your network
Network auditing provides a comprehensive view of network elements, including connected USB devices, smartphones, and tablets, along with installed software, active shares, open ports, weak passwords, and hardware information. Secure your network by closing open ports, deleting no longer active users, and disabling wireless access points.
  8. Security audits
The interactive dashboard provides a network security summary and history of all relevant changes made to your network over time. It allows you to deeply analyze all information, from network-wide security sensors to the results of individual scans.
  9. Running in virtual environments
It supports all common virtualization technologies, such as VMware®, Microsoft Virtual Server, Microsoft Hyper-V®, Citrix® and Parallels. It also detects virtual machines hosted by a scanned computer.
  10. PCI compliant, HIPAA compliant and more
GFI LanGuard offers vulnerability management combined with in-depth reporting to help you comply with standards and regulations. Help secure your network and evaluate the effectiveness of PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOX, GLB/GLBA, and PSN CoCo compliance programs.
  11. Run in agentless or agent mode
You can configure GFI LanGuard in agentless or agent-based mode. Agent-based technology enables automatic network security checks and spreads the scanning load across multiple client computers.

New License

New licenses start at a minimum of 10 nodes.
By “nodes” we mean a device on the network, therefore equipped with an IP address. For example, if we have a 25 node license, it means that we can scan 25 devices equipped with IP.
The Subscription is valid starting from the date of management of the order. Its duration must be signed for at least 1 year but it is also possible to choose 2 or 3 years.

Renewals

As with new Subscriptions, the subscription renewal can also be subscribed for 1, 2 or 3 years.
Upon renewal, the customer can decide whether to maintain the same number of active nodes or whether to decrease or increase the quantities.
The licenses are not perpetual: when the subscription expires the product stops working completely.

Upgrade

It is possible to upgrade your mailbox amount at any moment, from a minimum of 10 up to 2999. The upgrade is Always aligned with the expiration date of the in-use license and, in the case of a multi-year Subscription, the additional mailboxes will also need to be adapted to it.
